Scheme of Skill Enrichment

Classes Nursery-II

There will be no written test or exam for these classes.

There will be a Skill Enrichment Assessment of the child's progress over the year through recapitulation worksheets.

I Term: April to September II Term: October to March



Scheme of Evaluation

Classes III-V

Evaluation will be based on the student's continuous academic performance during the year.

Four sets of Unit Test will be conducted throughout the year in all the subjects. The Unit Tests will comprise of Pen and Paper test for 20 marks each.



Note: Duration of the Unit Test will be 1 hour.

Unit Test-4 for class V will be of 40 marks each in all the subjects except G.K. and Computer.


The duration of the Unit Test-4 of class V will be 1 hour 30 minutes.


Internal Assessment will comprise of Portfolio, Multiple Assessment and Subject Enrichment Activities for respective subjects with a weightage of 5 marks each.


For Computer, the first and the third Unit Tests will be Practical Assessments and the second and the fourth Unit Tests will be Pen and Paper tests.


I Term: April to September


II Term: October to March

Grades will also be awarded in the following areas of learning: Work Education, Art Education, Health and Physical Education and Discipline.

Students found using unfair means during any Unit Test will be awarded a zero in that particular test. No retest will be held for these students.

A student will be eligible for Full Attendance Award only if he/she is present on all working days including PTMs.

Classes III-V

Awards will be given to the students in the following categories:

100% score in G.K.

Scheme of Examination and Evaluation

Classes VI - VIII

The academic year will be divided into two terms and an examination will be held at the end of each term. Term I- From April to middle of September (with examination in the month of September) Term II- From end of September to March (with examination in the month of March) The syllabus in all the subjects will be divided into two terms. Note: For Class VI - Term II will have 10% component of Term I syllabus

For Class VII - Term II will have 20% component of Term I syllabus

For Class VIII - Term II will have 30% component of Term I syllabus

Evaluation will be based on the student's continuous academic performance during the year. Unit Tests and Term Examinations will be held in all the subjects for all the classes according to the schedule given in the almanac.

Multiple Assessment, Portfolio and Subject Enrichment Activities for respective subjects form an important component of the Internal Assessment.

Allocation of marks for Unit Tests and Term Examinations is given below:

Unit Test I & Internal Assessment 10%


Half Yearly Examination 40%
Unit Test II & Internal Assessment 10%
Annual Examination 40%
Note: The duration of the Unit Test will be 1 hour.
Students in Class VIII must score more than 33% in the III Language Examination to qualify for promotion to Class IX.
Attendance in the Unit Test is compulsory. Students with less than 75% attendance will not be allowed to take the Term I / Term II examination.
Grades will also be given in the following areas of learning: Work Education, Art Education, Health & Physical Education and Discipline.

Students found using unfair means during any Unit Test or Term Examination will be marked Zero in that subject. No retests will be conducted for such students. These students will not be eligible for any academic award.



Scheme of Examination and Evaluation
Classes IX-X

The academic year will be divided into two terms. In the first term there will be a Class Test of 20 marks of one hour duration, a Periodic Test -1 of 40 marks of one-and-a half hour duration and a Periodic Test-2 of 80 marks of three hours duration. In the second term, for class IX, there will be a Periodic Test-3 and an Annual Examination of 80 marks each of three hours duration. For class X there will be a Periodic Test-3 and two Pre -Boards of 80 marks each of three hours duration.

As per CBSE guidelines the student is assessed on the basis of Internal Assessment and an Annual Examination, which is mandatory.

For the Annual Examination the student will be assessed on the basis of the entire syllabus covered. The Internal Assessment includes Subject Enrichment Activity, Multiple Assessment, Portfolio and Periodic Tests.

In the entire session three Periodic Tests and one Class Test will be conducted from May to December. The best score of the two Periodic Tests will be used for calculating the final score.

Mark division :- Internal Assessment: 20 Marks and Final Exam : 80 Marks
Students scoring 33% and above in each subject and in the aggregate will qualify for promotion to the next class.
Grades will also be given in the following areas of learning: Work Education, Art Education, Health and Physical Education and Discipline.
Students found using unfair means during any examination, will be marked zero in that subject. No retest will be conducted for such students. These students will not be eligible for any academic award.


Scheme of Examination and Evaluation

Class XI

The academic year will be divided into two terms. In the first term there will be one Unit Test of 50 marks of one-and-a-half-hour duration. At the end of the first term there will be a Half Yearly Examination of 100 marks of three hours duration. Average marks will be awarded to a student under the following conditions in the Unit Tests / Half Yearly
Examination:
* Leave on medical grounds as advised by a registered medical practitioner.
* Death of an immediate family member.
* Representing the school in a competition.

No retest will be conducted under any circumstances in the Unit Tests / Half Yearly Examination. In the Second term there will be one Unit Test of 50 marks of one-and-a-half-hour duration and an Annual Examination of 100 marks including theory and practical assessment as per the CBSE scheme of Examination.

The Annual Examination is mandatory and the student will be assessed on the basis of the entire syllabus covered in both the terms.

Weightage of marks for each examination is given below:

Students scoring 33% and above in each subject and in the aggregate will qualify for promotion to the next class.

Class XII

The academic year will be divided into two terms. In the first term there will be two Unit Tests of 50 marks each. Each Unit Test will be of one-and-a-half-hour duration.

At the end of the first term there will be a Half Yearly Examination of 100 marks of three hours duration. In the Second term there will be three Pre-Board Examinations of 100 marks each of three hours duration. Students found using unfair means during any examination, will be marked zero in that subject. No retest will be conducted for such students. These students will not be eligible for any school appointment/post.
